The amount of weight loss that you can expect depends on several unique factors. For the average patient, the first 30 days of our program involves rapid and safe weight loss, but the actual weight loss experienced varies depending on several factors. At your initial consultation our staff will establish your unique profile analyzing your age, gender, weight, height, body fat percentage, body mass index, sleep schedule, occupational activity level, basal metabolic rate and more. Utilizing this information, sophisticated software, and experience, our nutritional staff is able to give each patient a clearer picture as to what they can expect, both in the short-term and long-term.
Since our core focus is long-term “real world” weight-management, we do not advocate meal replacements such as shakes, bars, or pre-packaged meals.
A variety of foods are included such as chicken, turkey, steak, deli, beef, as well as eggs, beans, cottage cheese, soy and tofu as well as seafood, dairy products, fruits, vegetables and whole grains. All foods can be bought at a grocery store or ordered at a restaurant. We do not sell food directly. Instead, we provide a well-balanced, structured nutrition plan based on 4 elements; the Types of food you can choose, the Portions you can consume, the methods of Preparation for each food and the Schedule of when to eat are established based on your profile. We consider your dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, kosher) as well as allergies, preferences and lifestyle to establish a plan that is sustainable both in the short-term and long-term.
Since our nutrition plans are customized, we not only take into account dietary restrictions (i.e. vegetarian, vegan, kosher), but also a patient's allergies, specific food preferences and lifestyle to ensure that they have a full and complete diet plan that is sustainable both in the short-term and long-term.
At Dr. Bo’s Diet our primary goal is long term, sustained weight loss for our patients. We continue to support the patient beyond completion of the initial program, helping to maintain his or her weight loss achievements. Over the course of our program patients are slowly transitioned from a diet plan back into “real life”. With this preparation, you will be in a good position to maintain your healthy weight in an enjoyable, long-lasting fashion.
We do not bill through insurance for our services. However, we can provide you with the proper documentation to submit claims to your insurance company. All health insurance companies and policies are different. Some insurance plans will cover our program in full, others will cover a portion, and some not at all. Please contact your health insurance provider directly.
The cost of our program ranges depending on various factors. Due to the custom nature of our approach, we are unable to establish exact fees before we meet with each prospective patient and evaluate their unique objectives and needs. We offer a wide range of programs, packages and payment options. The total and final cost of our program will be established during your free, no-obligation consultation. You will learn (in great detail) exactly what we do and what you can expect, including all associated costs, prior to your commitment to join.
Both or either, it’s up to you. Our core program includes private, one-on-one appointments with a doctor, PA, dietitian, nutritionist, or counselor. In addition to private visits, we offer group-counseling sessions to patients that are interested in additional support. Each patient has the option to select either private appointments only, group sessions only, or both private and group visits combined.
No. While we recognize the health benefits of regular exercise, it is not a prerequisite to success on our program. If a patient does not currently exercise or has a medical condition which precludes them from doing so, this will be reflected in his or her customized plan. Likewise, if a patient does regularly exercise, we incorporate their routine into the program.
Sometimes, yes. Sometimes, no. At Dr. Bo’s Diet, we create an individualized weight loss and weight management plan for each patient’s unique needs and goals. In some cases, medication may be used (in the short-term) as a tool in their overall nutrition plan. The decision whether or not to use medication will be discussed at your initial consultation. A determination of the best and most effective course of action will be rendered by our medical and nutritional staff, taking into account the needs, desires and medical history of the patient. Since there is no single best course of action, each patient receives their own customized plan, ensuring their success.
No. In many cases our patients have one or more preexisting medical conditions. Upon your initial consultation, our medical staff will conduct a medical examination including a complete medical history. When necessary, our doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners will work together with your primary care physician or specialist to monitor your health and adjust your medications. In most cases weight loss will improve overall health conditions, lessening or eliminating the need for the medications you may currently need to treat these obesity-related diseases.
